After closing in the midst of the pandemic scare two years ago, Gatwick Airport is opening its South Terminal from 27 March 2022. Summer holidays will understandably be in hot demand following the restrictions of the past two years. Multiple airlines will be flying from the South Terminal as of this weekend, and many are showcasing new short and long haul routes not flown pre-pandemic.
The news is clearly excellent for Crawley and the local area given the high employment the airport generates. This follows the latest UK employment figures showing unemployment at a 3 year low.
Contrary to the perceived economic gloom of recent years, the Crawley commercial property market had seen record land prices, warehouse rents and office rents during the past two years. Gatwick's full reopening may further fuel the current strength of the market. Please contact Graves Jenkins for the latest commercial property opportunities.
