Innovation Centres have seen success across the UK. An excellent environment for start-up businesses and entrepreneurs to develop and network, they have also proven a useful space for connecting established organisations.
With its significant commercial estates, excellent transport connections and entrepreneurial workforce, Crawley is the ideal location for an Innovation Centre. Just such a Centre is shortly to be opened in Manor Royal Business District in an initiative by Crawley Borough Council via a Coast to Capital Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) £8.65m Getting Building Fund grants secured by the council.
Graves Jenkins negotiated the freehold purchase and advised on building consultancy matters on behalf of CBC for the 24,595 sq ft Travel House which is to be converted and refitted for purpose and opened in the coming months.
Crawley Innovation Centre is to have an engineering focus, aimed at supporting Crawley's advanced engineering businesses and championing research and development into green technologies, as well as providing essential space for a range of smaller firms. The Centre will generate 200 new jobs.
Graves Jenkins are delighted to have been involved in such a significant step for the local economy. For further details please contact David Bessant 07767 422530 – bessant@graves-jenkins.com or Stephen Oliver 07786 577323 – oliver@graves-jenkins.com
