“Hove is a Changing Place”

Graves Jenkins are pleased to confirm to acquisition of a former car showroom in central Hove, close to both Hove Park and Hove Station, for a mixed-use development of 148 apartments and approximately 10,000 sq ft of new business space.

The site has been acquired by GJ retained clients Blue Goldstone Ltd after negotiations with the vendors agents Savills who were seeking offers in the region of £13 million for the site with the benefit of a planning consent obtained by Yelo Architects.

Phil Graves, who acted for Blue Goldstone, commented, “it took us some months to secure a satisfactory completion due to the challenges presented to us by construction cost inflation, funding, a complicated legal procedure and to maintain continued confidence in the residential market. It all came together in the end and we are looking forward to seeing such an innovative design being built in the months to come.”

The scheme, now named ‘The Goldstone Apartments’, will comprise a range of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom quality apartments all with balcony space and the majority will benefit from secure underground car parking. There are also allotments and green spaces on the roofs, electric charging points in the car parking area and potential for co-working space and gymnasium on the ground floor – all designed for the future.

What with the 800 new residential units in the Moda Living scheme In Sackville Road, the  300 residential units in Conway Street alongside 20,000 sq ft of commercial space and the Hyde Homes and Brighton & Hove city council new homes initiative, Hove is a changing place.
