The Ivy Creeps into Brighton
20 February 2018 By Phil Graves
One of the most prestigious names in the restaurant world, The Ivy, is coming to Brighton and in some style. Caprice Holdings have acquired the Grade II listed former Post Office premises in Ship Street on a new long lease paying a substantial six figure rent and will be trading over ground and lower ground floors.
The Ivy in West Street, London has hosted major A-listers since 1917 and is undoubtedly one of the capitals 'places to be seen', with its fine dining and luxurious décor. The same glamour will be attached to the new restaurant which is due to open in May and sure to be a popular addition to the ever growing number of quality establishments in the city.
Phil Graves, who assisted TIC in their search for premises added, "we had been looking at sites in the city for over two years and after a few false starts, we can now look forward to The Ivy in the Lanes opening soon. Brighton has proved to be a difficult location to find a suitable site as it has to be something quiet special for the Group to commit, but the Ship Street building will be ideal. There continues to be high demand to take restaurant space in the centre from a number of operators."
The brasserie, which is soon to operate from over twenty locations throughout the UK, will offer an extensive all day menu of quality food and delicious cocktails and to include a few classic favourites that nod to their Ivy heritage.
