Newsquest (Southern) Ltd, who own and publish The Argus newspaper, have finally secured new office premises, which marks their return to Brighton city centre after 23 years since their move from the original North Road printing works to Hollingbury.
Dawn Sweeney, Managing Director, announced “ I am delighted that we are moving back to the city. Our commitment to producing first class journalism can only be enhanced by the move.”
The Argus have entered into a favourable lease within an impressive office building in Manchester Street, just off St James Street in the heart of the city. After substantial refurbishment, the entire Argus team will move into the 3,947 sq ft first floor offices in June 2016.
Phil Graves, who acted and advised The Argus with their search for new premises confirmed, “We literally walked the streets of Brighton to find the right office premises for the paper in terms of location and presence. With so much office space lost to residential conversion and with a growing demand for central offices, the shortlist became pretty limited over time. After extensive negotiation, the acquisition has now successfully completed.”
Modern offices for a modern media company.
“It is important The Argus fully integrate with the people of Sussex and their identity will now be lifted,” added Phil.
