Sweaty Betty Jogs Around the Corner

Sweaty Betty, a leading British retailer specialising in women’s activewear with over 150 stores and concessions in the UK, US, Europe, Canada and Asia, has relocated its Brighton shop from Regent Arcade to a more prominent and larger unit in East Street - a transaction agreed by Graves Jenkins on behalf of the landlord. KBW advised Sweaty Betty.

The new outlet provides over 2,000 sq ft on ground and first floor plus storage and staff facilities in the basement. After an extensive refurbishment, SB have now opened the ground floor retail area.

GJ managed to achieve close to the asking terms of £62,500 per annum, based on a new 5-year term.

Phil Graves who negotiated the deal for the landlord commented, “despite the premises becoming available during the peak of the pandemic, we received a good selection of retailers interested in the location which is a testament to not only East Street but the strength of retail in the city of Brighton in general. This was a case of knowing the market and advising the client accordingly to strike the deal whilst the High Street retail sector is going through the biggest change for decades.”

East Street boasts some of the UK’s premier retail fashion outlets including All Saints, Russell & Bromley, Jones footwear, Reiss and Hugo Boss.
