The last five months have seen unprecedented changes in our lifestyle and our approach to business and despite the uncertainty, we have managed to keep our agency clients updated with the 'new market' and in some cases we have been able to receive instructions, market and complete a transaction.
This was the case when receiving a phone call from a Brighton landlord during the lockdown period who wanted to inform us that his previous tenant was vacating their retail premises and wanted to instruct GJ to find a new one.
"Is it actually worth placing on the market at the moment or shall we call you again later in the Summer?", was the question posed to our agency team.
We accepted the challenge, carried out a socially distanced measured survey, made arrangements for a marketing board and a marketing campaign and circulated details to our extensive database of applicants. It is fair to state however, even we were surprised by the results - seven inspections in four days and three offers to report to the client!
Once we settled on which one to accept, we were then able to instruct solicitors and make the transaction complete within six weeks, thanks to a determined tenant, a competent landlord and his active solicitors - S.O Legal.
The new tenant has the keys and is now fitting out ready to trade within a few weeks.
