Graves Jenkins has successfully handled the sale of the Gospel Hall in Mile Oak, situated on the outskirts of Hove.
The purpose built detached church building was built back in 1964 and for many years served as a place of worship, as well as a venue for community groups. The freehold was offered with D1 use and an internal area of 1455 sq ft, plus generous parking to the front. Offers were invited in the region of £200,000.
The nature and unique styling of the building created a high level of response from the general market with a variety of potential uses considered. Ultimately, the premises were sold to a private individual who intends to open an alternative therapy centre.
GJ acted on behalf of a registered charity and as a result, able to assist with all aspects of the sale.
“Hiring a multiple disciplined, RICS approved, property practice who were able to offer the entire spectrum of property related services was invaluable to us,“ commented David Parker, Secretary to the Trustees.
“Our demands were wide ranging and the team at Graves Jenkins were able to offer specialist advice on all aspects of the sale. This included an RICS Charity Report, the lifting of the Restrictive Covenant on the site and a comprehensive agency service which resulted in a very satisfactory sale,“ added Mr Parker.
Robin James, who handled the sale added. “It is always a benefit to clients who are able to instruct a fully qualified property practice involving many different disciplines. It helps expedite the sale which is the main aim for all parties. Very few practices are able to offer this service in the Sussex area.”
